Immunity is always natural, even if it has been triggered by vaccine, because it is your own immune system that creates the antibodies.

This is absolutely brilliant! My partner and I both got covid summer 2020 and by the time the vaccination started we were still not in great shape, so we waited to know more about side effects. Then last spring we both got sick again from Delta. It's nice to know our immunity is equal to being vaccinated. We are practicing all the safety measures to this day and plan to keep doing so. Thank you so much.

Getting sick is part of life. Our DNA is 40% virus fragments and 8% full virus sequences. The "mostly" human cells are outnumbered 10 to 1 by microbes. When I decided to get the vaccine, I decided to get tested for antibodies first. After discovering I was positive for antibodies, I declined the vaccine.
I then had my family tested. We are all positive for antibodies.
    This is basic immunology.
And this is why we should not allow politicians to play doctor.

It confirms to me that it absolutely does NOT make sense for me to get vaccinated (even though the Austrian government does enforce it now...), because I was diagnosed with Covid-19 in Nov. 2020 and still have a lot of antibodies today (I go for testing every three months). Thank you Dr. Campbell!

I've regularly followed you since Covid began, and appreciate your constant informed efforts to disseminate information. However, as time has gone on, I've got a question which still has no answer, so I thought I'd pass it on to you. How does one obtain natural (or "herd" or "population") immunity without being exposed to the virus? Since January 2020 I have been on self-imposed "house arrest" meaning only going out every week and a half to two weeks for grocery, pharmacy and banking. Otherwise my only trips out have been to court for cases where I am one of the attorneys involved. I wear a full-face 3M respirator with jaw cartridges every time I go out, including in court for court hearings. Since people who are infected with COVID do not turn purple, nor does the breath turn purple of those who are asymptomatic, and they don't have stamped foreheads which say "NOT VACCINATED BY CHOICE" - it is not possible to know whom to avoid. Also in the US, there is an undereducated (or uneducated) portion of the population who seem to think they have the freedom (I pronounce that variation "free-dumb") to avoid vaccinations at all costs. I am aware there are breakthrough infections, but the larger problem here seems to be the rather strange segment of the population which sees non-vaccination not as avoiding an allergy to the vaccine, nor any medical issue (proven, that is), but rather as a badge of their allegiance to others who are not fact-based nor science-based. Can you explain how those of us who have been this careful for this long can dare risk obtaining natural immunity by going out in public unprotected? Risking an early grave is indeed a steep price to pay for being in the population with those whose unfounded beliefs can place everyone else at risk. And the phrase "death rate" is really chilling - I know it is based on statistics, but it is similar to saying, in WWII, only 12% of those held in concentration camps this week have died. Small comfort to the 12% or to their families. BTW I have 2 comorbidities (not including my high risk age group) so I am not just standing on principle. I really like standing on the ground which is above the surface, and not below. Thanks for reading and replying. And to the trolls/MAGAts and others who are assigned the duty of trouncing upon people who differ from them, don't bother. BTW I went on this self-imposed "house arrest" following the alarming death of a friend who was a Senator in my home state legislature who I've known a long time - he was quite a healthy person, and died within two weeks of hospitalization following exposure to COVID.. Thanks for your reply.

People can try all day long to tell us that the Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 mRNA vaccines etc. are not vaccines, but by every definition of vaccine, from the CDC to the FDA, they are vaccines since they cause your body to produce antibodies against the virus the vaccine is being used against..
Some say that there is a 99.97% survival rate but this assumes that everyone has actually had covid. In the US nearly a million people have died from covid so that is around 0.3% of the US population. If it hadn't have been for lockdown and the vaccines, God knows what the number of deaths would have been!
The CDC says 6% of all covid deaths are from covid alone. Since pre-existing conditions (comorbidities) include obesity, heart disease, asthma, diabetes etc. then it is surprising that it is as high as 6%. In the US more than half the population is obese and most of the deaths include the obese and people over 70!.
Antivaxxers, continue with your narrative and ignore the fact that more than 2000 US families are losing a loved one everyday because of covid. The US has one of the highest current daily death rates in the World thanks to fools who have politicised the pandemic. It is the unvaccinated that are dying disproportionately. Since the vaccines became available, it is undeniable that the ratio between covid deaths and cases has come right down. Around one in six of all covid deaths have occurred in the US even though only one in every twenty one people live in the US.

Thanks for the clarifications. It validates my stance on why I have refused to get vaccinated as I have already had Delta and now Omicron infections. It would have been interesting to know the Vitamin D level of people in that first cohort group though. Both my infections were very mild and this I contrivute to very high level of vitamin D acquired from exposure to UVB light, not from pills.

  • dannyo66

Doctor Keith Moran also covered this info, and he said the 2 groups, unvaccinated with previous infection, and vaccinated with previous infection were basically, statistically the same threat of re-exposure/re-hospitalization.
When I caught covid back in October 2020 and finally recovered, just before the vaccines came out, I had heard some statistics that said the individuals who had covid benefited the greatest from getting 1 dose of the vaccine, but that further vaccinations seemed to provide no further benefit, so what the above slides show, is the benefit from the first vaccine giving slightly more protection, but not sufficient to get further vaccines. However with Omicron, we'll have to see just how good the vaccines hold up over time vs Omicron.
Personally, God gave us a very robust immune system. History has shown us that we get a disease, called plagues in the past, those that recover do not get the disease again, or do not get a severely sick. God knew what he was doing when he created mankind.

The reason being that many omicron cases are not being tallied. For example: My original Covid case was In 12/2020, no vaccination, had 13 months of natural immunity, then got reinfected 01/2022 with what was probably mild Omicron, only confirmed via a home test kit.
Please keep up the good work!👍🏼

I tested positive for antibodies during a blood donation in October 2020. I don't recall having any symptoms, and the timeframe would suggest "wild type". I just finished a pretty mild omicron case last week. Chills and fever on day one. On and off fever on day two. Nothing thereafter. Other than my normal supplements, I took no medication for omicron not even anything for the fever.
In any given year in my over half century on this planet, I would expect to have at least a day or two of the symptoms I had.
Instead of shipping out a billion COVID tests, we should be giving 50 million or so people the opportunity to have an anti-body test. After that, let people go about living their lives while focusing protections on the groups known to be at severe risk. Your otherwise healthy five year old was never at a high risk,

@wisenber The general consensus amongst the scientific community is that a killed-WSP vaccine would have a broader tolerance to all variants. From what I was reading last week Israel has just ordered millions of doses of Novavax for their next 'boosters' (?) but you are 100% correct, because Omicron is different to all the other variants, being oil-based.

What I find ASTOUNDING, is that it's taken this long to come to this conclusion....
The vaccine is targetted to a SINGLE spike protein, whereas NATURAL infection, exposes the body to around 20 proteins....... therefore it doesn't take a genius to realise that natural immunity is more effective than a targetted vaccine, due to the broader protein exposures.
What worries me is that I have known this for the past 18 months and the "So Called" science experts, are only now waking up to this.
    I find this really disturbing......

The average age someone dies of "covid" is 82.5:
Average age of death from "covid" in the UK in 2021 according to Campbell is 82.5 years of age - go to 6:59. If you watch on for a further 60 seconds; Campbell expains that the average age of death from COVID-19 was actually greater than the average life expectancy in the UK. He states that average age life expectancy 2018 - 2020 was 79 for men and 82.9 years of age for women which is an average age of 80.95. Go to 8.85 and you'll witness Campbell stating quote "So as we see the average age of death from COVID-19 was actually greater than the average life expectancy in the UK. This is really quite shocking data".
      plclip.com/video/9UHvwWWcjYw/wideo.html
      To summarise the above points:
Average age of death from "covid" in the UK in 2021 = 82.5 years
Average age life expectancy 2018 - 2020 in the UK = 80.95. Which means average age mortality has gone up by well over a year since the beginning of the alleged "pandemic". This data is freely available on the ONS website.

    Hi Dr John,
I think your sessions are extremely well done and I wait with bated breath for a session on Hydroxychloroquine and COVID-19 ?
Also comments on comparative studies on efficacy of Pfizer vaccine and Astrazenica, as Im lead to believe Pfizer is superior to Astra.
In my area of work in Australia my employer requires me to have 2 vaccines as primary course and then a booster.
Ive now had 3 astrazenica but Im told Im less of a risk of transmitting the virus to other people if I get 2 Astra and Booster Pfizer or Moderna.
Has this be proven in Data ?
    Thanks again for educating me.

@Terry Winter Restrictions are being lifted for very obvious, non-conspiracy theory reasons.

      @Audrey G
You can blame the government for arbitrarily closing jobs because it could deem them as "necessary" or "unnecessary" on a whim. Allowing large corporate entities to flourish while small businesses closed for good.
They also added to the problem by mandating that everyone in specific job sectors be vaccinated for no reason beyond "it makes the government look like they're doing something". The elderly and vulnerable were the ones that needed the protection/vaccine first and foremost.
Shortage of workers is in part due to them being sick (and guess what, virtually all of them will recover and be healthy again) and the others walking out because they're being told to take a vaccine and they have no reason to.
The government can gain a lot of confidence by exerting their authority onto everyday citizens and claim it's for your own good.

Me, my 2 children aged 7 and 10 at the time and their mom all caught the original wild strain right back at the beginning in March 2020
The only one of us really effected was the childrens mom, a very fit and healthy 42 year old She had 2 bad waves of it after initially losing her sense of taste and smell , one for about 4 days, then a break when she felt better for a few days then another 3 day relapse in which she was even worse
She was stuck in bed both times with the worse flu like symptoms she said she had ever had she literally had to crawl to the bathroom All in all this lasted about 8 days before she started to recover and 2 weeks to recover her taste and smell
About 2 days after she became sick and bed and bed bound I lost my sense of taste and smell The children also became sick , both for 24-36 hrs only though, mainly with fever and a bit of vomiting Then they were fine just as quickly as it began
Of course I was now waiting for it to progress and hit me as it had her I was also 10, years older than her, 52 and the type of person, who always catches regular colds and minor ailments and have also had a few big one over the last decade like a particularly rare and severe form of Lyme's disease which directly attacked my nervous system like meningitis and I ended up hospitilized after not sleeping for 3 weeks because of the pain in my back on morphine having tests and a lumbar puncture for a week as there was a big danger for my heart This was followed by a MONTH of daily high strength IV antibiotics I also had Dengue fever previously
So I was expecting it to hit me at least as bad as her , I remember counting the days after I lost my taste and smell with a sense of anxiety as it was known that it tended to turn bad around the 7 day marks but then nothing else happened , I had absolutely NO other symptoms than the loss of taste and smell I felt perfectly fine, not sick at all for the next 2 weeks until I recovered my sense of taste and smell
I remember the kids mom couldn't believe she had been so sick as she rarely is and yet I was 'not touched by it despite my regular history of maladies as I obviously got a good dose of the same strain as did the kids from her living together
What was really interesting though is 3 months later the doctor sent me for a blood antibody test which came back positive of course but the my antibody levels were extremely high, even after 3 months The doctor said they'd only seen 2 other people with higher levels and they had both been really sick It was really unusual to have such high levels when I had been virtually asymptomatic Usually asymptomatic people or people with very mild symptoms had much much lower antibody levels if at all after 3 months
It was like the virus got stopped dead in it's tracks in my nose and could go no further The doctor guessed I must have had for some reason a very high existing natural immunity that was able to kick in very fast, thus the very large levels of antibodies produced very quickly stopped the virus getting any further than my nose and developing other symptoms and my immune system continued to quickly produce large amounts of antibodies throughout as though it had already encountered the virus before?
I know there has been talk of there being about 10% of the population having some form of pre existing immunity to CoVid so I was wondering if in fact my history of various ailments had along the way led to my immune system getting trained up against the CoVid virus in some way? I know the idea that a history of repeated exposure to the common cold specifically caused by one of the 4 Corona viruses that can cause it has been touted as a possible source of x-immunity? As the common cold is more often caused by one of the 200 or so Rhinoviruses it's quite possible that only a small % of the population has had repeated Coranavirus induced cold exposure with it being possible that many people , whilst having had many common colds, still haven't ever been exposed to one caused by a Coronavirus ?
Anyway , it's nearly 2 years since our initial wild infection and despite the virus raging around us at the childrens schools and colleges as of now none of us has suffered known re-infection and we have all been tested various times due to being close contacts or having upper respiratory tract infection symptoms All the time negative
We have all had the full vaccination program as my daughter is now 12 and living in France it was a requirement except my now 9 year old son But this study really intrigues me because I've heard both my children real of long lists of friends and school mates who are off isolating with the virus and in the case of my daughter they are all of course vaccinated And test after test the kids have had to take amongst this raging Omicron fire and still it's like they are walking through it untouched , whist all around them everyone is getting infected
I just wonder if having that original strain combined with some genetic trait they have picked up from me is possibly protecting them? Like super immunity Protection a vaccine can't give?
I really can't say of course but I do know there is something genetic going on effecting peoples immunity plus I'm now guessing some strong effect from having had the original strain so early and my own unusual immune system reaction to a virus that was supposed to be new to my immune system?

We are currently advised by the our government (Australia) to receive boosters after 4 months, or 3 if availability exists. @phanders Let me guess, you’re a Democrat right? I’m not trying to be antagonistic but that comment of “it’s not most people’s experience” reminded me of a Gallup poll where something like 90% of Democrats grossly overestimate the percentage of COVID infected people going to the hospital. The real answer was something around 3% but over 40% of Dems believe that half of the COVID infected - that’s 50%, seek care in the ER. It’s a result of constant fear porn people on the Left and even in the middle people deal with everyday. COVID is bad for some people, but for a lot of people, it’s the Coof. My wife had it just like me and we’re in our late 40s, all 4 of our kids have had it and it they got better quick. Statistically that is most people’s experience. And that whole 90+ % of people in the ICU are unvaccinated, well the other side of that factoid is that 80% of those people have 4 or more comorbidities, so yeah, they probably should’ve got the jab or the Government should’ve let doctors be doctors and let them prescribe drugs like hydroxychloroquine and Ivermectin off label. But nah, never let a crisis go to waste Dems, gotta use fear of Coof or manmade Climate Change for political and financial gain.

What I take from this: everyone should have their antibody levels tested and if not previously infected should get the vaccine. Take away all restrictions for vaccinated people and get to herd immunity as quick as possible. And even more importantly: we can stop wasting booster vaccines on people who don't need them and provide doses to countries in need. Unfortunately I don't think that will happen... Great video though, so thank you for that.

So after reading the report it seems as though it’s great news if you’re a time traveller going back in time. The data was collected “before widespread circulation of the SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variant and before most persons had received additional or booster COVID-19 vaccine doses to protect against waning immunity.” So context is important here. CDC also adds in this report “epidemiology of COVID-19 might change as new variants emerge, vaccination remains the safest strategy for averting future SARS-CoV-2 infections, hospitalizations, long-term sequelae, and death.”
“Primary COVID-19 vaccination, additional doses, and booster doses are recommended by CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices to ensure that all eligible persons are up to date with COVID-19 vaccination, which provides the most robust protection against initial infection, severe illness, hospitalization, long-term sequelae, and death.”

I am really interested in looking up the study for myself. There is one thing unclear about the data as presented here. When discussing the group "vaccinated with previous infection", the discussion suggests that if you have had it, the vaccine does not protect you further. But, there is no mention of the timing of vaccination relative to time of previous infection. Unless opinions have changed very recently, it appears that natural immunity is also temporary - probably several months - not sure what current estimates are. So, it would probably be a good idea for someone who has been previously infected to consider getting vaccinated in the future.
I guess I am questioning whether the data is really suggesting "getting vaccinated too soon after infection does not provide more protection".
I just reviewed the study quickly. There is one other point that is missing in your discussion. The study shows a significant difference pre-delta and post-delta. When the original strain predominates, the data suggests that the vaccine offerred noticeably "better" protection than previous infection. But, once delta became predominant, natural immunity was better than vaccine immunity. Now, I don't want to draw too many conclusions here, but I can't help but wonder if, post-delta, the vaccine is less effective than natural immunity because it was originally developed to combat the initial strain. Delta may have been "different enough" to reduce the vaccines efficacy. So, that would suggest, not that "natural immunity is better", but rather "a strain specific vaccine" is needed. More specifically, it's important to consider that the vaccine is sort of a few generations behind the virus right now.

Changing names does not make it lesser evil. Those who see no evil, speak of no evil, or talk of no evil are necessarily evil themselves. This is not science it is in the real of witchcraft. Use of human parts in any concoction is witchcraft of which you can be lynched in some parts of the world, but in others it is "vaccine". Humanity must not allow itself to go down this path. @Lion Prince Ashanti mRNA is an extremely common format of genetic information for the production of proteins. In humans, our DNA is copied into chunks as mRNA for this purpose. For many viruses, they only have mRNA because they can't make proteins themselves. The vaccines are mRNA sequences of the spike protein of the virus. But if what you're saying makes sense to you then enjoy I guess.

@Cjorss We are not talking of fungus here, but Killed, murdered aborted human babies. One in 1972 the other in 1985 murdered in Holland, whose bodies continue to be grown and harvested for ritual cannibalistic consumption of the future. If you think that is "fungus" you are way too gone, beyond redemption. I pray for your soul.

@Lion Prince Ashanti Yeah, that's what I mean. There's just the smallest kernel of truth behind that idea. Penicillin was originally discovered and produced by growing a fungal species that was found to be good at killing bacterial growth. The active chemical harvested and purified from the dead "bodies" of the fungus. Someone has convinced you that the same is happening but with two specific foetus being grown and harvested for the purpose of obtaining mRNA vaccines.

“The bottom line message is that from symptomatic COVID infection you do generate some immunity,” said immunologist E. John Wherry of the University of Pennsylvania. “But it’s still much safer to get your immunity from vaccination than from infection.”
Vaccination has long been urged even after a prior case of COVID-19 because both kinds of protection eventually wane - and there are too many unknowns to rely only on a past infection, especially a long-ago one, added immunologist Ali Ellebedy at Washington University in St. Louis.

An "expert's" opinion is the least reliable form of medical evidence. What E John Wherry says means nothing. You have to research and acquire unbiased and evidence-based medical literature and not listen to the advice or opinion of a single "expert". The argument of Wherry sounds rather subjective than objective.

It would be interesting to see a comparison of severe illness in unvaccinated who received early treatment i.e. Ivermectin, man and hdq, vs vaccinated receiving early treatment and vaccinated receiving no treatment and unvaxxed receiving no treatment.
I'm pretty sure that the end result would show the vaccines would have little benefit in lieu if an effective early treatment protocol.

@Juniper Pruniper i am pleased that you re-thought your position and retracted your original comment - VERY rare to see that these days on such online forums!! Sadly, I think it is a reflection of the very information bias you spoke to. This is a huge problem and only seems to be getting worse. I’m not sure how we will correct this…
Myself, I got a BS in molecular biology, was a technician in biophysical chemistry for 7 years, went to grad school got a masters in science education, then finally a PhD in biochemistry, cellular and molecular biology. For the past 20 years I’ve been a professor at a major medical school in the U.S. doing primarily cancer research.
On the relative merits of natural immunity versus vaccines, I personally believe the emphasis on vaccines was mostly scientifically justified and not overly driven by the influence of Pharma. Particularly early on, when we had less info on COVID, and its potential. In a very real sense we are lucky it is not as deadly as it could have been. But still, we’ll have lost a million people here I. The U.S. before this is down to the level of an endemic agent, not all of whom are elderly and/or with, comorbidities; and regardless, none of them should have died prematurely, as they did, many in horrible lonely ways unable to say goodbye to family and friends. Most dying now are the unvaccinated, so these are largely preventable if they had gotten the shot, and that’s tragic. So although the individual risk of death is low, relatively speaking, it exists and is far greater than any risk from the vaccines, so the decision, it seems, should be a simple one.

@Juniper Pruniper Ha! Well, the very fact that I obviously watch this channel proves that wrong! ;) I could borrow a famous line from Ben Shapiro here... Actually I try VERY hard to diversify my news and info sources because the problem of silos and echo chambers is huge and has led to the near death of reasoned discourse in the US. Also, regarding this topic, I am very interested and involved in the information streams, as I am a biomed researcher and am therefore well-qualified to assess the validity of claims and analyses in this arena, FWIW...

    • Alan Meeker
      Alan Meeker 8 miesięcy temu

@Juniper Pruniper thinking that the death stats have somehow been skewed to make it look like many COVID deaths for some Pharma/Govt. Conspiracy is unreasonable if only because the scope and size of such would be impossible. But the simpler argument against this idea is the tremendous numbers of excess deaths both here in the U.S. and worldwide. We’ve had close to one million excess deaths here. If it’s not due yo COVID then what else would it be from??? Unless you think
The conspiracy includes the murder of almost a million people. Also this supposed conspiracy would have to be a world-wide phenomenon, and include countries where Pharma et al have zero presence or influence…

@Juniper Pruniper It's the icu that is being strained and it isn't the vaccinated causing that strain. The vaccines at best prevent severe illness and quicker recovery time, so less chance of spread.

My question is, how did they determine that that cohort was indeed unvaccinated without previous infection? It only says without previous diagnosis, which isn’t the same. It’d be fair to assume that a part of that group could have been infected at some point and go undetected or undiagnosed, which would lower the effectiveness of the vaunted natural immunity. I’m surprised the doctor didn’t consider this. If cases are underreported today, this was even more the situation early on, when we didn’t even have enough tests around.

@Drum Lessons you basically have the biology backwards.
While the immune system is resilient and adapts well, the virus has many additional proteins whose function is to shut down or gum up the immune response, to allow it to better replicate and spread throughout the body.
So essential is probably best to get the vaccine which will stimulate your immune system in the same way as infection, minus all the negative effects of the infection.

    • Drum Lessons
      Drum Lessons 8 miesięcy temu

@Miguel A. Saldaña I don't want to jump to conclusions, as that wasn't tested in the study. I'll humor you though. On one hand it seems possible for the reasons you outlined, namely that the full length spike protein exists on the virus. On the other hand, the body is acclimated to exposure to the full length protein as part of the viral infection, and it's possible that the protein is only showing these properties due to the isolated and concentrated nature of the protein in the inoculations.
What's for sure though, is that more research should be done all around.

    • Miguel A. Saldaña
Miguel A. Saldaña 8 miesięcy temu

Some people are still quoting things the CDC was saying a year ago as if they were the gospel truth, and refuse to even look at what the CDC is saying today. People believe what makes them happy then look for a quote to support it, and stop there.

Total covid deaths since the pandemic began
Australia = 5425 (equivalent to 70,000 if Australia population was the same number as the US).
    US = 957000
Well done to Australia for applying the science instead of the myths. For any country, look at the covid daily deaths before and after the vaccines became available. Even though the number of cases increased, due to lockdown restrictions being eased/removed, the number of covid daily deaths reduced dramatically and the hospitals were no longer being overrun.
